Dirty Ship is an informational cruise travel website available at https://dirtyship.us/. This Privacy Policy describes how information may be handled when you browse the website, use its search and navigation features, or send us an editorial inquiry. Our contact email is admin@dirtyship.us. We aim to explain current practices in ordinary language, without suggesting that tools or protections exist when they have not been implemented.
The website as supplied is a static collection of pages. It does not require visitor accounts, and it does not contain a checkout or booking system. The current build does not install a first-party analytics platform or advertising script. If services are added or changed after publication, these disclosures must be reviewed to match the live site's actual behavior.
Information you choose to provide
Messages submitted through our Contact Us form include the name, email address, subject and message you enter. They are transmitted to the external FormSubmit service for forwarding to our published mailbox. Do not send sensitive personal, booking or health information. We do not currently operate an email newsletter or collect newsletter sign-ups.
You should avoid including sensitive information such as passport numbers, payment details, health records, login credentials, or full travel itineraries containing private identifiers. We do not need those details to understand most editorial suggestions or corrections. If you choose to include them despite this request, they may be present in the correspondence that reaches us.
Messages are used for purposes connected to the inquiry, such as understanding an issue, responding where appropriate, reviewing a correction, or improving website information. We do not use the contact form as an account registration system. Not every message will receive an individual reply.
How form submissions are delivered
The Contact Us form uses FormSubmit, an external form-delivery service, to forward entered messages to our administrative email address. The website owner may need to complete the provider’s one-time email verification before messages arrive. A form submission sends the entered information to the third party.
When you submit the form, your information is sent to the form provider rather than being processed by a server operated directly by Dirty Ship. FormSubmit may handle technical information needed to receive and manage a submission. Its privacy practices, security measures, and retention rules are governed by that provider's own documentation and procedures. We cannot promise specific retention periods or data-processing locations on its behalf.
If you would rather avoid the form provider, you may write to admin@dirtyship.us directly using your chosen email service. Email itself involves processing by the sender's and recipient's mail providers. We cannot control those providers' technical logs or storage systems.
Basic technical information generated by browsing
When a browser requests a page, the web hosting and network infrastructure may process information needed to deliver it, such as an IP address, request timestamp, requested URL, browser details, and error logs. Such information may be used by the hosting provider to operate infrastructure, detect abuse, investigate incidents, or troubleshoot delivery problems.
This static site does not include its own analytics dashboard or create user profiles from navigation behavior. That statement applies to the supplied source files, not necessarily to every possible service a site administrator might later enable through a hosting account. Hosts and other service providers have their own policies, and their technical retention practices are not controlled by this document.
Browser storage, search and cookies
The built-in article search and category filtering run in the browser using a list of page titles and links supplied with the site. They do not require you to provide a name or email address and do not send search terms to a Dirty Ship application server. The supplied site JavaScript does not deliberately set tracking cookies or store a browsing profile in local storage.
Third-party services involved in form submission, and infrastructure that handles network requests, may use their own technical measures. You can manage cookies and storage in your browser settings. Our separate Cookie Policy explains what is and is not present in the current build.
Advertising and Google services
The present website package does not include Google AdSense, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or personalized advertising scripts. We therefore do not claim that those systems are already collecting data, setting advertising cookies, or displaying tailored ads through this build.
If advertising is enabled later, this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy should be updated before or at the time those services are activated. Depending on applicable rules and the advertising setup, visitors may need relevant notices and consent controls. Google and other advertising providers can use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver, measure, or personalize advertising under their own policies. Those possibilities are described here for future awareness, not as a claim about the current live configuration.
What we do not operate on this site
Dirty Ship does not provide visitor login accounts, payment processing, customer dashboards, or direct cruise reservations through the current static package. We do not ask readers to register a password to access articles. We do not implement a behavioral advertising audience list or a user-tracking profile in the supplied source code.
Links within editorial pages lead mainly to other Dirty Ship resources. If you follow an external provider link on a service or legal page, that provider may collect information under its own policy. We are not responsible for independently operated websites and cannot guarantee that their practices match ours.
Security and sensible sharing
We take the need for responsible handling of contact messages seriously, but no email or online submission system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not use the forms for confidential or urgent information. Use the operator's official secure channels for cruise reservations, identity documents, medical details, or payment issues.
HTTPS should be enabled for dirtyship.us when the site is published. Transport encryption helps protect data moving between a browser and the site, but the form submission service and recipient email systems also play roles in handling messages. The website owner should keep Hostinger and email-account credentials secure and review the third-party form integration before using it publicly.
Retention and requests about your information
Ordinary correspondence may remain in the recipient's email inbox and in service-provider systems for as long as needed to address an inquiry, maintain records, or meet applicable obligations. We do not publish a fixed deletion period because the current delivery and email providers' policies may vary, and we have not configured a separate automated deletion service. Messages that no longer serve a reasonable purpose should be reviewed and deleted in accordance with applicable requirements.
If you want to ask about an email or form message you sent, contact admin@dirtyship.us. Describe the request and the address you used so the correspondence can be identified. Please do not send additional sensitive documents unless requested through an appropriate secure process. We will consider requests to access, correct, or delete information in light of applicable law and the systems actually used.
Privacy rights and timeframes vary by location. This policy is not a statement that every privacy law applies to every visitor, nor does it remove rights that applicable law may give you. Contact the relevant authority if you need official guidance about your rights.
Children and communications
The site provides general travel information that may be read by families, but its contact forms are not designed to collect information from children. Children should seek help from a parent or guardian before sending personal details. We do not intentionally operate a children's registration or profile service.
Updates and contact
Technology, hosting settings, and editorial services may change. We may revise this policy to describe those changes more accurately. The current version should be reviewed whenever contact tools, analytics, advertising, or other third-party integrations are enabled.
Questions about this policy can be sent to admin@dirtyship.us. The most useful inquiry identifies the page or interaction involved and explains what you would like to understand about the handling of your information.
